Our first new Thunderbird was a 1977 which was purchased in the fall of that year. We still have this car which has all of 1,200 miles on it! Dad preferred to drive my Celica instead. Each year I tried to pick up a brochure for the current Thunderbird at our local Ford dealer. Here are the covers of the ones I still have and with time I'll try and scan and post their contents for those who are interested in what options were available back then.

I believe 1981 was the year that Ford based the Thunderbird on the Fairmont chassis. This was the result.

Hot Rod Magazine's Ford High Performace plus Bonus SVO catalog.

1987 brought changes to the Thunderbird line, and a more powerful intercooled Turbo Coupe.

Only two years later Ford redesigns the Thunderbird and brings out the Super Coupe.

The 1991 Thunderbird brochure, 1997 will be end of the Thunderbird line until 2002.
